Roller Coaster Blues $149 I ett dammoln rör sig Mats Gronmark mellan loppmarknaderna på jakt efter Tandbergbandspelare, krokiga Levingitarrer, barnsyntar och annat som kan vara bra att ha för framtiden. En samlare slutar inte samla bara för att lägenheten är bräddfylld. Det är bara att fortsätta. Ett intressant ljud kan framkallas av vad som helst. Nu har Mats psykiatriarbete lagt den ekonomiska grunden för ett nytt album. Skivbolaget lånar ut sin skivbolagslogga och en klapp på axeln. Det tackar han för. Ett intensivt åkande på Leksands hockeymatcher tar också pengar och dessutom tid för Mats. En intensiv religion som på ytan ter sig helt meningslös, men som också har ett innehåll med något slags djup. Den vilar hans hjärna från musik och hans kropp från pryljagande. Det finns inget ansvar för en hockeyfanatiker. Bara glädje och ilska.Volvokombin stod redan parkerad i julisolen på Hälsingegatan och den tömdes ivrigt på sittmusikaliska bråte. Christian Gabel behövde bara slå på ventilationen, sätta upp mikrofonerna, rulla på ett av skivbolagets mycket väl begagnade tvåtumsband i Otarin och hoppas på det bästa. Senast var det så roligt på Cobra att förhoppningarna nu blivit hyfsat stora. Upplägget med olika konstellationer musiker kändes så bra att det blev så igen. Mats solo, en trio, en kvartett, orgel, pedal steel, inte steel. 2 steelar.Möjligheterna i studion blev härliga och oändliga. Den bedagade sånggruppen Sångglädje från Edsberg kom i sina taxibilar och sjöng tjusigt på två låtar. Vilka damer. Ett slags kombinerat studiebesök, studiojobb och kafferep. Ett lyckat sånt. Huvudsakliga musiker på Roller Coaster Blues är: Daniel Wigstrand: pedal steel. Christian Sandell: octavergitarr. Mats Lutten Larsson: trummor. Eva Lalander: luftorgel. Mats Gronmark: sång, gitarrer, gurka, dörr mm. Christian Gabel: piano. Debutsoloskivan Tape Hiss Hit or Miss and Sometimes Even Bliss släpptes i maj 2009.Mats Gronmark har bland annat ett förflutet som sångare/låtskrivare i bandet Burek V samt i akustiska duon Hellon och är även medlem i Eve and the Last Waltz. |
